A small mountain road leads down to the authentic mountain village of Gimmelwald at 4472 ft where most of the inhabitants are farmers. Their daily life is determined by a close link to nature and animals, evidenced by the carefully decorated houses and the numerous wooden huts where cheese is stored. The local farmers sell their produce directly at their farms or on the market in Mürren.
